Python is a popular and powerful programming language that has long been a preferred backend tool in web development and is also quickly becoming the de-facto language of Data Science.


This workshop is a hands-on introduction to Python programming for absolute beginners, with a focus on programming fundamentals and how you can use code to solve real-world problems. In this class, we will also discuss Python's role in the Data Science workflow, and dive into how to use Python for basic data analysis.


This bootcamp is designed to teach core Python coding concepts through practical examples and guided practice.

How our sessions work

We host these live online classes out of our office in Cambridge, MA. Guests tune in online to watch the live presentations. During the presentation, we set up a question and answer platform where participants can submit questions and have them answered. You'll be sent the webinar access information the week before the start of the course.

In this class, you will:

Prerequisites

  • no prior coding experience is required, but some comfort with computers is needed.
  • please install the Anaconda distribution on your laptop before class.

Much of the data we need to analyze is stored in databases, and SQL is a powerful tool for querying a database and retrieving the data needed. This class will go into detail on how to use SQL to insert data into a database, pull data from a variety of tables, and aggregate, process and analyze it in order to extract meaningful and valuable business insights.


This class will take absolute beginners through the basics of SQL to the ability to write queries with confidence, and to apply their new skills at work.
